Chapel Hill — A near perfect kicking display from freshman fly-half Gregor MacLennan ensured that the result was never in any doubt. In the first half, Clemson's rush defence restricted UNC to a solitary Jackson Paterno try from short range. MacLennan ensured UNC held a 19-0 halftime lead with a conversion and 3 penalties.

UNC gradually wore down a young and game Clemson side that was not going to go down without a fight. Despite it being a fairly scrappy affair with too much whistle, UNC were able to put together some great passages of play. Gregor MacLennan broke down the Clemson defence with a great solo effort up the blindside. Ben Cottingham then scored out wide from a set piece scrum and Evan Rose completed the UNC scoring from a counter-attack.

Clemson, who are obviously in the rebuilding phase right now and have a young side, must take credit for limiting the Tarheels to 40 points. They never gave up and their defensive effort on the small pitch created alot of problems for UNC.

Next up are Tennessee, who didn't play this weekend - UNC will have to step up their game by a considerable margin if Chapel Hill are going to compete with the Volunteers.

Thank you to all those that came out and supported the Men's and Women's sides on Ehringhaus Field.
